Philosophy of religion is the philosophical exploration of religious matters: analyses of different conceptions of God, arguments for and against the existence of a deity or deities, the rationality of religious belief, theological doctrines, and questions about life after death (PhilPapers summary). The SEP adds reflection on the nature of religion itself and on alternative concepts of ultimate reality.
