A later step: foundation-owned storage where people can back up their phone photos, files and documents, using free open-source tools like Nextcloud (self-hosted file storage) and Immich (self-hosted photo backup).

• Encrypted, so the foundation can't read people's data
• Kept in two places, in case a drive fails
• Run by a trusted tech volunteer
• Costs to research

Note: the foundation should not store people's passwords. Point people to free password managers instead.
